Online chat can refer to any kind of communication over the Internet, but is primarily meant to refer to direct one-on-one chat or text-based group chat (formally also known as synchronous conferencing), using tools such as instant messengers, Internet Relay Chat, talkers and possibly MUDs. The expression online chat comes from the word chat which means "informal conversation"

Everyone spends a lot of time going online.. some people spend more time going online then going about their normal life..
One of the main attraction of going online, to me is the fact that you can chat without having to face the person.. this however can be a good thing, and it can be a bad thing...
First of all, we dont have to face the person face to face.. people that communicate online can be more confident when chatting online compared to when they have to communicate face to face...
However, the bad thing is also the fact that we cant see each other....
Online gaming is so common around teenagers these days... i remember the time when one of my friend hacked a player from an online game by saying that he is a cute girl... my friend randomly took a pic from the net and send it to the other guy.. the other guy was so happy because he thought he knew this really cute girl and gave his game id and other rare stuff to my friend...
The point of this post is to tell.. or rather warn people of the dangers of chatting or developing relationships through the net
